Spook Spotter
If you have a large group you might like to try a game of Spook Spotter. This is one of those indoor Halloween games that is honestly a very quiet game to play.
To start the game, the children stand in a circle. One child is chosen to be the Spook Spotter. The Spook Spotter leaves the room or turns his/her back while a child from the circle is chosen to be Spook. Spook chooses the repetitive, rhythmic movements that everybody will make without fascinating from their places. Movements might include, floating ghost like movements, jerky zombie movements, witch on a broomstick movements, witch stirring a brew action. Encourage Spook to be creative with his/her actions.
Once everybody is copying Spook's action, the Spotter returns to the room and starts to study the group. The Spook Spotter's job is to guess who Spook is in three guesses. Spook changes the actions as often as possible without being seen by the Spotter. everybody follows copying Spook's actions. After three guesses or when the Spook Spotter guesses Spook's identity, a new game begins with a new Spotter and a new Spook being chosen.
Children may need to be encouraged not to look at Spook as this will give the game away to the Spotter. Instead they can scan the group and convert movements when they notice others changing their movements.
Halloween Whispers
This is an additional one of the indoor Halloween games that can be played with a large group. It is a version of the game Chinese Whispers. To start with, have all of the children write one spooky sentence on a piece of paper. Don't let them show their sentence to whatever else and the supervisor collects the sentences.
The children sit in a circle and the supervisor gives one of the sentences to a child in the circle. This child reads the sentence and whispers it the someone beside them who then whispers it the next person. This continues colse to the circle until it reaches the last someone who then tells the group what the sentence is. By this time the sentence has regularly changed considerably and there will be lots of laughter as the distorted version is told to the group.
Halloween Bingo
There are also some indoor Halloween games that kids can be complex in preparing. Halloween bingo can be played by large or small groups. Generate a list of Halloween words and let the children make their own Bingo cards with these words. They can use a 3 x 3 grid and write nine of the words on the grid. This way there can be two winners. The first winner can be the one who gets a row of three first and the next winner can be the one who completes their card first.
Outlined above are a few indoor Halloween games that kids always enjoy. Give them a try and see how you go. Best of all they don't wish much in the way of preparing so you'll be ready to play in no time at all.
